Tidbits.

Nothing overly exciting happening in our neck of the woods... so here's a little mish mash of what's going on.

-- I really really really want to join a gym or health club in town. Not only would it be great for my health and goal to get rid of my baby weight, but it would be good for the boys to be in a small daycare environment and have some mommy time. However, our budget just does not allow for it. We have cut back in so many areas but the utility bills at 2 houses are killing us.

-- Jaxon will be 2 next week! We are having a birthday party for him on Monday. We will have 9 kids (ages 2-4) here, and 11 adults... yep, in our tiny house. We're having a Cars theme, since my son is uber-obsessed with the movie... it won't be anything fancy but I am really excited to celebrate with good friends of ours, and his. I'm trying really hard to not dwell on the idea of none of our family being here... it doesn't seem real yet.

-- I am only about 10 pounds away from being at my pre-pregnancy weight, yet my body feels so far from that. My shape is completely different, and my belly... yeah, lets not even go there.

-- MY BOYS ARE HEALTHY!!! Ahhh, what an amazing feeling! Jaxon started coughing on Saturday so I nipped it in the bud and called the doctor on-call, told them about Cohen's diagnosis earlier that week, and they called in a prescription for him. I was so thankful they did that and didn't wait until it got worse.

-- Something happened last night that I never ever thought would in Waco... it snowed! Some parts of town got 5 inches, and I think we got close to that here. So fun... this Midwestern girl is very happy :)

-- On a related note, because of the cold weather here, our pipes have been frozen since Tuesday. The cold water works, but the hot water does not. Weirdest thing ever... we were able to go to some friends yesterday to shower, which we were thankful for since we were all a little stinky. And if you know my husband, you can imagine how crazy he is going... he is one of those people that shower first thing in the morning and will shower multiple times a day if he gets sweaty at all. Showers in the morning, mows the lawn, then showers again. Tomorrow it will be in the 40's, so we're hoping it will thaw out then.

-- I had an amazing birthday! My husband spoiled me rotten. He made me breakfast, got us Chick Fil A for lunch which we took to the park to have a picnic, had naps in the afternoon {you know you're getting old when...} and then had a date later that evening! This was the first time in SO long that I have been without the boys alone with my husband, so it was such a refreshing and fun time together. We ordered a glass of wine and shared it... haha!

-- I go through stages in my life where I feel safe and secure and then other stages where I feel like I'm living in fear. Fear about death, fear about all the terrible things in the world, fear about my boys and something happening to them. Can anyone relate to that? My husband reminded me last night that God is truly in control of our lives and no matter where we live, that will never change. So what if we live in a not-safe-and-very-scary town, God is still in control. It sounds cliche, but it's a good reminder.

I think that's all for now... everyone have a great weekend!

Cohen - 3 months

Hey there little guy!

How is it even possible that you're 3 months already? Seriously, I just got used to telling people you were 2 months old, and now I have to change it to 3. As much as I want you to stay little forever, I also look forward to whats to come. I know it's not healthy that I want you to be a baby for the rest of your life, so I'm embracing the fact that you're getting bigger and look forward to our future with you.

This month your personality is really starting to come out. You smile {with huge 2 dimples!} constantly, you are beginning to talk, and you get excited when you see people you recognize, but particularly Mommy ;). You kick your legs and wave your arms constantly, and your hands might be your favorite snack ever!

You weigh 12 pounds, 5 oz. My big boy!

Your GERD is getting better, slowly. It seems to not bother your tummy as much, and you seem to be spitting up less and less. {knock on wood!} Unfortunately, this month you got whooping cough. You are a champ and made it through just fine and I am so happy that you are back to my happy and healthy baby.

Your sleeping patterns are random and sporadic, I am hoping that will change this month. Fingers crossed!

You are a gift from God and I love you more than I could express.

What I wore Wednesday.

It's so easy to get in a rut when you're a stay at home mom. It's easy to not shower daily, it's easy to not style your hair for days, and most of all it's easy to stay in comfy pants all day long.

I always feel bad being in comfy clothes when Tyler gets home so I usually change about a half hour before he arrives... ha!

I have decided to challenge myself to get dressed and make an effort to look presentable, even on days that I am not leaving the house. I know my husband appreciates it, and I always feel better when I do.

And in order to keep myself accountable, I decided to take pics and post them on my blog. I don't think anyone wants to see me in jammies, so this is good motivation. :)

Yes, I wear my skinny jeans a lot. I love them, but they are too big on me (yay) so I'm looking for a new pair. Anyone have a favorite brand?

Any other SAHM's want to take on this challenge with me? :)

Happy day of birth.

Today's my birthday, ladies and gentle-cars... {name that movie!}

I love birthdays, and I love celebrating other people's birthdays. What am I doing today? Well, thanks for asking. Laundry, and snuggling with my boys. No cake, and no presents from my hubby allowed... but I am totally okay with that. Trying to watch my weight anyways. ;)

But today I do get to spend the day with my 3 favorite boys in the world. They appreciate me, they give me lots of hugs and sloppy kisses, and they love me for me. That, my friends, is the best gift a girl could ask for!

I do have a feeling my hubby has something up his sleeve for the evening... but we'll see. Although this girl is perfectly content with a redbox movie, a diet coke from McD's, and her comfy pants!

I am excited for this next year of my life. I am confident 2011 will be excellent, and I can't wait to see God's hand over every detail of it!

Little guy and I.

We're hanging in there. Cohen is not showing a lot of improvements, but not any worse either. Thanks for the prayers! Y'all are the best.

Yep, I just said y'all.

Here's a couple pics to hold ya over until life settles down a bit ...

Sure doesn't look sick to me! ;)

This is what I think about being sick!
