Here's my question.


And I need answers.

Do you double space after a period at the end of a sentence?

Apparently I missed the memo that you're not supposed to do this anymore.

    LOL. I double space - it's what I was taught in typing class and it's a hard habit to break. I've been doing it for 12 years now! I've seen lots of people lamenting the awfulness of the double space, but I don't think it's a big deal. But what do I know? :)

    I just realized that I don't think I do it online (because it looks funny visually to me), but I definitely do it when word processing.

    Nope, that's way old school from typewriter days, when type wasn't kerned. It was hard for me to drop the habit to.

    Definitely only 1 space after a sentence. Although, because I edit a lot of things for work...i notice that a lot of people do put 2 spaces.

    It drives me absolutely crazy to see only one space! I don't know when the rule would have been changed or by who, but it saddens me to see all the grammatical errors that are becoming so widely accepted. That's my two cents' worth, and I'm sticking to it! You are a great writer, Megan, and I wouldn't change a thing if I were you!

    What?!?!?! This is the first I've heard of it. Oh, no! I've been double-spacing ever since I met James. He's a HUGE fan. I didn't know that was going out!!!
