Seriously, how cute are these for my boys room?!

Really stinkin' cute is the correct answer.
However, they're not cute enough to pay $200 for, that's for sure. Try again, Pottery Barn Kids.
I think I'm going to try and D.I.Y. them ... anyone have a suggestion on how to start? I think once I get all the supplies I am totally capable of making these. But what I need to get started is where I'm stuck.
A trip to Hobby Lobby is in my near future.
here's my suggestion...
ReplyDeletepaint the back with off-white...you can tell its textured and not solid paint..so good luck with that. ha.
Then, I would just put the trucks/planes together with either scrapbooking paper or fabric..glue all the pieces together, then glue it to your painted board, then shilack (sp?) the whole thing to give it a smooth finish.
Good luck!
PS...you may be able to just use 1' x 1' cork board (like, for bulletin boards), that way, the holes/texture will already help when you paint it? I'm not sure..that's just a possibility...might not work. Then, you could also use them as cork board if you need to! :)
ReplyDeleteWell... UL is always an option... ;) You could always use craft paint to make the little designs right on the vinyl. Just a suggestion!!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to do all transportation now, rather than just airplanes? You should look at the "transportation central" theme pack on page 98!! Isn't it adorable?!? It's printed on the removable and reusable vinyl, so kids can move the things around, make new roads, etc! Love it!! Kinda pricey, but I'm hoping to get something removable/reusable soon!! So fun!!! :)
