Who wants to go house hunting?

As promised, here's some pictures from todays house hunting adventure.  The only rule with this post is that you have to leave me a comment and give me your opinion.  Deal?  Click on each thumbnail to enlarge the pictures.

First up... Birch St.

Likes:  Very open, big windows, love the floorplan, huge backyard, basement is open and big
Dislikes:  White cabinets, No masterbath

Next... Oak Crest

Likes: Open floorplan, very clean & tidy, love the kitchen cabinets, all rooms are good size
Dislikes: No hardwood (linoleum in kitchen), no fenced back yard, basement is fairly small

Next... Cottage Creek Dr.

Likes: great curb appeal (love the style of house), open floorplan, huge backyard, downstairs is great, master bed/bath are huge!
Dislikes: "wear and tear" of house is obvious, landscaping needs lots of work, smaller bedrooms

Lastly... Meadowbrook

Likes: very open, new, beautiful (BIG) kitchen, big bedrooms, vaulted ceilings, big basement, 4 bed/3 full bath
Dislikes: no fenced backyard, not much landscaping

----------

So.. that's it!  Those are our top contenders, as of today anyways. ;)
What do you think?  Likes/dislikes?

  1. They are all such great houses. They all have their pros and cons, but I really like the pictures from the last house. That's just my opinion ;)

  2. My goodness Megan! They are all so nice! It's really hard to see the wear and tear or the landscaping in the Cottage Creek house so I can't say for sure on that one. BUT if there is a lot and it will cost you some money to fix, you might not want to have to worry about that. I would have to agree with Kari and say that my favorite is probably the last house. I just like the overall feel of it. Plus, your dislikes are limited on it. You could always do your own landscaping (to your liking) and it looks like you could fence in the backyard once children come into the picture. Let me know as soon as you can what you decide! I think you will be happy no matter what you choose. Just remember, go with the house that you picture living in! :D Oh, one other thing. I gave you an award. Go check out my blog for more details! Love ya girly!

  3. OOOh! I looove #3! You can always add landscaping later. Will they let you fence in the yard?

  4. I really like the last house. I found some of your comments interesting. Near me, fenced in yards are rare...people like more of an open spaces feel. The only houses with fences are the houses with pools (law requires they be fenced in).

Things like reseeding a lawn, or minor landscaping don't cost much. If I were you I would be focusing on the things you can not change (neighborhood/location, size of house, layout of house)...otherwise mostly everything else is cosmetic and minor.

Good luck on the house hunt. Looks like you have some great choices!

  5. I like the last one, plus I think the "dislikes" could be addressed fairly easily (although probably not all that cheaply).

  7. I'm in LOVE with house #3! It has all of my prerequisites. Seriously, I would already be living in it if it were actually an option. Do it. :)
