The chief of online coupons.

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am a little bit crazy about a good deal.  I love second-hand stores, craigslist, and coupons.  I'm not overly crazy like, "you should be on that crazy coupon show" type of person, but I do love a good deal.  I refuse to pay anything full price when I shop online because with a simple search you can almost always find a coupon to use for your purchase.

The first site I always check is Couponchief.com.  Yes, I was asked by them to write this review, but I'm being honest when I say that.  In my opinion, they have some of the most reliable coupons available, not to mention some of the best.  Coupon Chief is super user-friendly and allows you to search for the specific retailer to see what online coupon codes are available.

For example, Sunday I got the itch to get a few items for myself.  By the way - I'm super annoying about spending lots of time online shopping but never actually buying anything.... does anyone else do that? Anyways, once I had added everything to my cart, I checked Couponchief.com to see what coupons Kohl's was offering.

They had about 50 coupons available, plus some printables in case I wanted to go into the store as well.  It's as simple as copy&pasting the coupon code into the box when you check out, and you can save money... easy peasy lemon squeezy.

The one thing that stands out above other coupon sites for me (besides their user-friendly site and reliable coupons), is that you can get paid to share coupons with CouponChief.com's Pay-2-share program.  There are 4 simple steps to this program and it sounds like a complete win win situation to me.  Once you upload a coupon, you get paid 2% of each sale that is made from the coupon you uploaded.  Get out of town!  Love it.

Another thing that CouponChief.com has that others doesn't, is their Coupons-4-causes program.  I love to donate to any kind of good cause... and now you can shop your favorite sites, save money, AND donate to a great cause at the same time.  Love!

All of that to say... I highly recommend this site and because I love y'all so much, I want you to use it too!  Save money, EARN money, and donate to a great cause all in one website.

Disclaimer: This is a paid review brought to you by couponchief.com.
While I was paid to review their site, all opinions are my own.
And honestly, I use it in real life, and you should too.

Faith.

I was looking for a spice today in my cupboard when I came across some mustard seeds.  Tiny tiny tiny little things... and I remembered the scripture in Matthew when Jesus used a mustard seed parable to provide a picture of faith.

“I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed
you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move.
Nothing would be impossible.
(Matthew 17:20)

Most of us have probably heard the old example about having faith in a chair.  Saying that you trust the chair to support you while you sit is nothing more than words until that faith is exercised.  It's when you actually sit and rest in it that faith is proven.

I was just thinking that as we journey through life, we can see faith do the same things that seeds do.  They grow into something much bigger than when they started and our faith, or trust in God, will grow as well as we witness the amazing things He does in our lives.

Hope your Tuesday is going great.
I had a great visit with a close friend,
a skype date with my Sister
have finished my laundry that was WAY overdue,
and now I have a coffee in hand ready to finish out the day...
and let's not forget about the Parenthood season finale tonight.
Anybody else having a great day?

Tidbits.

- First things first, are you caught up on Parenthood?  We are crazy about that show and I think I cried the entire 45 minutes this past week.  Also, so annoying that next week is the finale already... it's only February for pete's sake... NOT ok!!!  Love that show.  Can't say it enough.

- Have you heard about the Color Run?  They are coming to Kansas City this year (June 30), and I'm 110% confident that I am no where near being able to run the entire thing, but I want to do it SO bad... even if I walk 75% of it!  S O F U N !!!   If you are near me and want to do it, let's do it!

- Sunday afternoon I started feeling crummy and really haven't gotten better.  It started out as just a stomach ache and now throughout the week my sweet family has given me their cold... literally my house is a MESS and I cannot get muster the energy to do anything about it... which, you know me, I hate.  I'm almost on the verge of buying a neti-pot, which I swore I'd never do.  Blech.

- My master bedroom redo is in full swing and I'm super excited about it... my bedding is complete, minus a couple throw pillows... and I'm still on the hunt for some cheap(ish) mirrors.  There's your hint.  :)

- The weather has been GORGEOUS this week... we have been outside every day and I've loved running with the boys.  Jaxon is great motivation calling me "real slow" when I walk and tells me to go faster... ha!

- I have LOVED not being on Facebook the last couple days.  So freeing, so lovely.  I may never go back.... for reals.  Honestly, I'm not even tempted yet.  I'm just loving it way too much.

- Excited to see my family for the 3rd weekend in a row... I am so thankful to live close to them again.

- Cohen is no longer Mr. Innocent.  For so long, if the boys were fighting or if Cohen was crying, we automatically assumed it was Jaxon.  Nu-uh... no more.  Cohen *loves* to instigate things, and stir up trouble... he pushes Jaxon's every last button until he explodes.  Wrestling matches and head locks are a part of our every day routine now.  And so it begins!

- I am flying to Arizona next month for my cousin's wedding to be her photographer.  I was hoping that it would be a "getaway" for Tyler and I (with no babies), but unfortunately we couldn't squeeze the cost of the 2nd flight out of our bank account, so he is staying behind.  My girl cousins are all going (without their husbands), so it seems this is turning into quite the girls getaway weekend.  I am excited, but also freaked out and feeling guilty about leaving my boys behind... all 3 of them.  I am, however, excited to sleep in past 7am!

- I am extremely obsessed with greek yogurt. It's 3 points and worth every single one! (Oh, did I mention I started up weight watchers again?  Down 5 pounds!) If you live in the midwest, try the new AE brand... my favorite!

- Enjoyed this new recipe last night!

- On a not as happy note, I could use your prayers today.

Happy Weekend!

Lent.

"God, our Father, you created us from the dust of the Earth. Grant that these ashes may be for us a sign of penitence and a symbol of mortality."
Ash Wednesday Liturgy

For me, Lent is a season of preparation, much like the Advent season before Christmas. It's a time of reflection, a time for prayer.

Not everyone gives something up. It's not "required" by any means. But the intention is to enter in to the struggle with Christ, to walk the journey to the cross with Him, and to use the time and energy you spent on something else and focus it on prayer, worship, and study. We sacrifice something we love in order to think about the sacrifice that was made for us.

I've been praying about what to give up.  My first thought was social media... Facebook and Twitter.  I wouldn't consider myself a full-fledged addict of either, but both of those things consume more of my time than I'd like to admit.  I thought about giving up caffeine, mostly coffee.  But honestly, I think that would just make me grumpy and defeat the purpose.  I don't want those around me to suffer just because I'm making a sacrifice... ha!

I am praying about it throughout the day that the Lord would make it clear what He wants me to give up for the next 40 days. (yes, I know, I'm a day behind...)  And honestly? I'm excited about it.  I can't wait to see what happens as I focus more on HIM and less on the world around me.  Our small group is also going to be doing the Daniel Fast the last week of the Lent season, and I'm both excited and scared for that as well... mostly excited to see how we grow as a group and individually as well.

Also in Lent, some choose to "add" something and I love this idea.  Each day over the next 40 days, I am going to either write someone an encouraging note, or list out things I'm grateful for.  I am working on my list of 1,000 things I'm thankful for (Ann Voskamp style) and this will help me get closer to completing this.

What is Lent about for you?
Do you give anything up?
