'Tis the Season!

I don't know about you, but lately I've been dreading going to the mailbox each day.  It's extremely rare to see anything except junk mail or bills in there... it gets depressing.  This is one of the MANY reasons I love Christmas so much... there's just nothing better than getting a Christmas card from friends & family.

You all know about my love affair with Tiny Prints.  In my opinion, they have the best cards in the market.  I am in love with their modern/traditional/fun designs, and most of all, I really appreciate the quality that they pride themselves in.  Naturally, every time I'm looking for an everyday greeting card, baby announcement, or Christmas card, I always check in with them to see what's new.

It's Monday.

A little weekend recap...

Friday morning 38 ladies from my church and I attended Women of Faith.  While I wasn't in love with the conference itself, I did have a great time connecting with the girls {and a special guest of mine that shall remain nameless} and also taking a break from my everyday routine to recharge and refocus.  I loved my time with friends and my special secret guest!  ;)  The community we have in our church is amazing and I'm so grateful.

Saturday night my husband surprised me by picking me up from the conference and taking me out to one of my favorite restaurants... California Pizza Kitchen.  It makes me laugh when they ask if we've ever been before, because I practically lived on CPK during college, since I worked there.  I ate there every night.

Right before bed Saturday night I started feeling a little sick but just assumed I ate too much at dinner.  Unfortunately that wasn't the case, as Sunday morning came and I had the flu, along with the majority of the women that attended the conference.  Such a bummer that I spent all day yesterday in bed sleeping, but I feel 100% better today.

This morning I also started my new job!  Oh wait, you didn't know I got a job?  Don't worry, neither did most of my family.  {my bad...forgot to relay info!}  I started watching a couple of my friends' boys, both of them part-time, 1-2 days a week.  I am so excited to have them in my home and am honored that my friends trust me to help them out.

The result is a compelling traffic safety campaign that delivers important safety lessons to children from preschool to 3^rd grade and their parents. With lessons focused on four main areas of traffic safety – pedestrian, school bus, bike and car seat safety – the campaign is designed to engage, educate, and ultimately, save lives.

The program includes:

• A Traffic Safety Pledge, which has already been signed by more than 11,000 children. By taking the online pledge, kids can earn their Chuggington Traffic Safety Badges!
• A dedicated microsite, www.chuggington.com/safety, where kids can go to play safety games, color safety sheets, and parents can download safety tips. 
• An activity book for kids to color and learn traffic safety lessons.
• Original Public Service Announcements, the first of which will air soon on Disney Junior (sneak peek: you can ride the rails over to Chuggington’s site now to view the PSA online here).
• Educational materials, new seasonal programs, and a free Chuggington traffic safety app are all part of this comprehensive campaign that will continue through 2012 and beyond.

First and foremost, in case you're wondering how Cohen is doing....

I literally have not seen him smile and laugh as much as he did yesterday afternoon in a LONG time!  Thank you Jesus... sweet sweet relief!

He was feeling so well, that Tyler and I felt comfortable enough to join some friends for a little trick or treating around their neighborhood...

Last year Halloween...

When 6:15am rolls around the day after Halloween and your 2 year old asks "where's my candies?", you know it was a successful night.

We had a great weekend… family visited, Cohen's birthday party as well as his dedication at church, Fall Festival, and lots of love and laughter.  Tons of pictures coming your way this week.

This morning the little guy had his tubes surgery... it was so quick, before I had time to even dwell on what was going on he was already in recovery.  I had a tremendous amount of peace this morning and I know it was because of all of the people praying for us... thank you!  He was SUPER fussy in recovery and after surgery but is now napping peacefully in his crib.  I am praying he's back to my happy little guy soon.
