Blogger award!

Woohoo!  I love awards!  :)

Stephanie has awarded me with the infamous arte y pico award!

Here is the deal: The award was originally designed by Eseya at arte y pico . You pick five blogs that you think earned this award based on their creativity, design, interesting material, and contribution to the blogging community. List the names on your blog and link to their blogs. Leave a comment on one of their posts to let them know of the award! Each winner has to show the award and put the name of the person who gave them the award with a link to their blog. Also show the link to arte y pico.

It was a really tough choice but here are some great blogs that I am nominating:
Kristal: Good Friends, Good Food, Good Life
Kari: Better Together
Leah: Marital-Bless
Grace: The Keith Fam
Bryn: Newlywedisms by Bryn

Thanks so much Stephanie!  You know you would have been first on my nomination list if you didn't already nominate me! :)

Who wants to go house hunting?

As promised, here's some pictures from todays house hunting adventure.  The only rule with this post is that you have to leave me a comment and give me your opinion.  Deal?  Click on each thumbnail to enlarge the pictures.

First up... Birch St.

Likes:  Very open, big windows, love the floorplan, huge backyard, basement is open and big
Dislikes:  White cabinets, No masterbath

Next... Oak Crest

Likes: Open floorplan, very clean & tidy, love the kitchen cabinets, all rooms are good size
Dislikes: No hardwood (linoleum in kitchen), no fenced back yard, basement is fairly small

Next... Cottage Creek Dr.

Likes: great curb appeal (love the style of house), open floorplan, huge backyard, downstairs is great, master bed/bath are huge!
Dislikes: "wear and tear" of house is obvious, landscaping needs lots of work, smaller bedrooms

Lastly... Meadowbrook

Likes: very open, new, beautiful (BIG) kitchen, big bedrooms, vaulted ceilings, big basement, 4 bed/3 full bath
Dislikes: no fenced backyard, not much landscaping

So.. that's it!  Those are our top contenders, as of today anyways. ;)
What do you think?  Likes/dislikes?

Happy weekend!!

I love weekends.  Growing up I never used to like them because A.) Saturdays were work days, and at the Carmichael house, a work day was never fun... and B.) I liked school and being with friends, so being away for 2 days was pure torture.  (notice I said torture because anytime anything didn't go my way, of course I was tortured.) hehe. ;)

Now that I'm an adult I love weekends because A.) I get to work on my house and catch up on things I was too lazy to do during the week, B.) I get to spend QT with my husband, and C.) I'm away from work...well, sometimes.

It was MAX this weekend in Olathe, which only means one thing... lots of nazarenes running around.  It's always fun because I'm able to catch up with the Osky Naz youth group and see all the kids grown up.  Spaghetti supper last night at the Birch's was fabulous, and then somehow I was tricked in to spend the rest of the evening at Nazarene Night at Worlds of Fun.  I say I was tricked into it because it was 40 degrees out and rainy, so I obviously had no intentions of going.  However, all of my sisters friends bailed on her, so I went and we had a great time despite the hypothermia that took place in both of our bodies.  We spent the evening with Andy, Linz and Ashley and it seemed like we were laughing the entire night.  We had a great time!

Today Ty & I slept in, I kicked my own butt at the gym, and now we're off to go house hunting.  I will be back tonight with an update and hopefully some pictures!  Hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!

Confession.

  • I wish it was still snowy and cold outside. I'm dreading the summer!

  • A lot of people like Anthropologie... I don't.

  • I didn't like the movie Juno.

  • I had a handful of chili cheese fries as a "snack" yesterday.

I feel better now. :)
