Bored?

Oh my word - I am so addicted to this.

Here's the rules: play 3 rounds, and post your highest score.

Now you know what I do when I'm working 12 hours a day and do less than 10 transactions ALL.DAY.LONG.

--------

Kari tagged me!  :)

1.  While at Starbucks, I order either a Iced Grande Non-Fat Mocha.  It's yummy, and low-fat!  Only 2.5 points!

2. I've always wondered why American flags are backwards on the exterior of airplanes. I've asked my husband this, since he works on planes, but he doesn't know either.  Strange, eh?

3. My family had a chicken farm growing up. I hated having to feed them everyday, because you always stepped in poop. It was yellow and it ruined my favorite pair of shoes.

4. I don't have a green thumb at all, and I don't really enjoy planting flowers. This past summer, I let all of my flowers die on purpose, because I got sick of watering them.  We have a few plants in our house, and my husband takes care of all of them.

5. I am slightly obsessed with the following: Longaberger baskets, PartyLite candles, Stampin' Up items, and BKE jeans.

6. The reason I never wear lip gloss or lipstick is because I'm self-conscious about my teeth.  Now that I have braces, I still don't wear anything on my lips, but I vow to after my braces come off.  :)  I'll be sportin' my straight teeth!

7. When I was 4 or 5, my Mom was ironing and went upstairs to hang clothes. I got on a chair, and wanted to get the wrinkles out of my hands, so I decided to iron my hand. Once the iron fell onto my fingers, I wasn't strong enough to lift it off so it severely burned my hand.  I still have scars on 3 out of 5 of my fingers on my left hand. My mom still feels bad about that.  (it's okay Mom!)  :)

And I don't have 7 people to tag, but here's a few... I am going to tag:
Samantha - Stephanie - Grace - Kristal - Bryn

 HAVE FUN!!!
(And hopefully this is a little motivation to set up a blog if you haven't already - so you can participate in fun "blog games" like this one!)  :)

Say a little prayer for me...

I am feeling totally and completely overwhelmed with my new job... it is wonderful, but with extra pay/higher title comes more responsibility.  I am so under-staffed that I am working open-close everyday, which is 7:00 AM until 6:30 pm, sometimes 7:00 pm depending on the day.  Pray for encouragement overall and also motivation for me to keep going to the gym... I have been terrible about going since I don't get home until after 8:00 on nights that I do go.

Thanks, friends.

My weekend in review.

Let me just say... I had an incredible weekend.  Friday night started it all off with the Father/Daughter Dance at our church.  This is a formal event and my Dad came from Columbia to spend the evening with Kallie and I.  We had a blast getting all dolled up, and just spending time with one of the most important men in both of our lives... our Daddy.  What an incredible person we are blessed with to call "Dad".  I could go on and on about the million reasons why I love him, but most importantly I love him for the way he is an incredible man of God, and for the way he loves his family.  There is no doubt in my mind that I am loved by my father, and what a great feeling that is.  I apologize ahead of time for the quality of these pictures - we were in a very dark gym, so it was hard to get the right lighting.  Here's a few of my favorite pictures from the night.  :)  Click on the thumbnail to see the big picture!

So after we had a great time at the dance, we left Olathe and headed to Columbia for the weekend.  Here's a little preview of what we spent our weekend doing:

  • Mom, Kallie and I went on a beautiful long walk on Saturday morning - soaking up the sun :)

  • Lots of yummy food, including burgers on the grill, ribs, and kick-a-poo bars... yummm!

  • Spent our Saturday afternoon walking around downtown Columbia (a beautiful town) - we went to the True/False festival, Jason found a new laptop ;) , found a yummy ice cream place, and went into some cute clothing stores.

  • Laughed until our stomachs hurt over the infamous poopy list

  • Played a few rounds of Family Feud, and ended the night with Whodunit (I lost.)

  • Went shopping after church

  • Enjoyed the beautiful 70 degree weather!!!

So yeah... what an incredible weekend.  I love my family.

I am so blessed.

Food for thought.

I read this on a very good friend of mine's blog today, and I hope she doesn't mind that I take a piece of her entry and post it here.

"...Ruth showed in those few verses what friendship is all about. Its about love, loyalty, companionship, being there no matter what. Sticking around through the good times and the bad times. Mourning together, rejoicing together, praying together, accountability…the list is endless. Friendship is not all about what one person can do for or offer another person.  Friendship is not supposed to be work. It is meant to be easy. Its an important bond that God trusts us with."

Wow, how incredibly true.  While I don't think friendship is "a walk in the park" (aka = easy), I also don't think it's meant to be hard.  Thank you, Sam, for never giving up on me or our friendship.  You are truly an amazing person.
